We really are embracing rural market town life!! In the pouring rain we made our maiden voyage to the Farmer's Market in Newbury. Drenched, miserable, slopping our jeans at our heels we trudged through town......

and what a delight!!! Farmers of all sorts had braved the weather to turn out with their produce. Fresh bread, fruit, meat , fish, eggs, cheese, sausages, the lot. Fantastic!!! "Can't let the folks down, just because of a bit of rain" smiled Mr Fresh Trout man. ( quite appropriately for him I imagine).

Of course I was meant to get some stewing beef for a credit crunch stew..... but I had hubby with me so we ended up with a bag of goodies..... which means that there's an apple crumble pudding! MMMMMMMMMMMMMMy favourite.

Could it get any wetter?

Next time I want one of these, Mum, Dad , when you are next visiting, lets go for English Breakfast in a bun fresh fromt' farm!!
She has bacon, egg, sausage sizzling in the pan there......aaaaaaaahhhhhh, can you smell it???
First and 3rd Sunday of the month, Farmers' Market.
Did you find the doughnut man - Mr Pippin? Our favourite. He does killer berry puree doughnuts, so much nicer than regular jam. Get there early, they disappear quickly!
